Tillie

I love decorating our tree, unwrapping the ornaments and remembering where we got them, who gave them to us, or who made them.
For the past three years, unwrapping this one has been like a punch in the gut. You all know how I dote on our dog Baxter, and I really love him. But Tillie was my first baby. We got her as a puppy when we had been married just a year.
Tillie taught me how to be a mama. Here she is with our now 15-year-old son:
And here she is with me on the day we had to say goodbye to her in February 2006. She was almost 15 years old:
We all miss you, Tillie.

OH, Tillie definitely looks slowed down in that last photo. What a loved dog though, you can totally tell!

Oh, love that last shot with your fur baby. Love that soft, squishy adorable face on her.

So sweet. I had a dog I loved like that once. Can't bring myself to want another.

I miss good old "Tillie Willie", as I used to call her. I don't look forward to that difficult decision day in my dog's life. Thanks for posting Tillie.

Ahhh such a sweet post. I just had to take our 12yo Chow in he bit someone agian. The first time he did it he was literally protecting my son, the guy asked for it but this time I couldnt defend him the same way in court. It was so sad.

Becky, this post really tugs at my heartstrings. It's so obvious how much your dogs mean to you, I think it's wonderful that you have that ornament and that it brings back memories of your sweet Tillie. The photo of her with you son is absolutely precious.

That is so sweet and sad. I am so glad you have that ornament though, it shows how much you loved her to keep a remembrance like that.
