My yard

This part of my yard still has leaves on the trees.

Nobody ever plays on the tire swing anymore. And my youngest didn't trick or treat this year. I'm going to go cry now.

Bumblebee Baxter

It's Halloween tomorrow, and you know what that means...I dress Baxter up and humiliate him! Woot! Woot! Here's how it went down this year.

"Get it off! Get it off!"

"Why do you do this to me? Why? Why?" (insert Nancy Kerrigan whine)

"Ok, I'll wear it. But I will. not. look. at. you."

"Fine. Happy?"

When I went to buy pumpkins this year I mentioned to the lady selling them that I'd heard it was a bad year for pumpkins, and she said, "Shhh...not in front of the pumpkins."

How do you like them apples?

I went leaf peeping today and took approximately 2,397,438,649,843 photos, but I'm too tired to edit any tonight, so I'm posting some more apple photos.

Before I picked them off the tree and popped them in a basket:

Dempsey Challenge

My husband participated in the Dempsey Challenge this morning, a bike ride/5K run to raise money for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing Dempsey Center . 3500 participants raised over a million dollars. My husband raised over $1100. Yay for Chris!

It was so congested I couldn't get anywhere near the start line, where I might have caught a glimpse of Patrick Dempsey, but I was there to support my very own McDreamy:
That was gross, huh? I think I made myself sick.

Just a little side note/story: Dempsey grew up and attended several schools in this part of Maine, and I have several friends who went to school with him at some point or another. I've never met him, but one day a teacher at my kids' school said to me, "So you dated Patrick Dempsey, huh?" She had me confused with one of the other mothers. I told her no, but feel free to spread that rumor as much as she liked.
