Still hanging on

It's hard to believe it's going to be December 1 tomorrow and these black-eyed Susans are still hanging on against the foundation of my house.

My dad and his siblings

The two little twinsies in this photo turn 73 tomorrow. Happy Birthday Dad and Uncle John! Just don't ask me which is which here.

Raindrops

Did it ever rain today. If it had been snow we'd be buried.

Thanksgiving Turkey

My sister-in-law found this little knit hat ornament and sent it to me.This came in really handy on my pumpkin turkey since I lost his felt pilgrim hat and he looked like this:
Hope you all had a wonderful Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Daily Phoebe

I took Phoebe for her first vet visit today. She weighs 4 pounds. I don't know why that cracks me up, but it does. She's a lot easier to manhandle than my 100-pound golden was.

Guitars

One of the carny booths at the fair last month.

Pomegranates

Pomegranates are kinda ugly. And expensive. And hard to eat. But yummy.

Daily Phoebe

She really is a teeny-tiny little thing.

So I did pretty well at my vendor fair. The overall turnout for the fair was not very high, but my table was one of the ones that had better sales, so I'm pleased. Of course most of my sales were to my friends, but I'll take it (and I thank them very much!)

Boat on a lake

This puppy is kicking my butt...I haven't taken any new photos (except of her) since she got here Sunday, so I'm posting an old one. To answer your question, Sharon, she hasn't destroyed anything YET, but only because while housebreaking I try to watch her like a hawk. If she's not in my arms, we're either outside or I'm following her around obsessively in an attempt to catch her and get her outside when she gets ready to squat. Baxter is adjusting to her. They've been playing chase and tug o' war like old friends the last couple of days. Baxter is still off his feed a little bit, but I think after a period of adjustment we'll settle into being a happy two-dog family.

Daily Phoebe

For yesterday's photo I put the metal reindeer on red card stock and took the photo, then added the text in Photoshop. I added the black frame in Photoshop to show how it looked when I printed and matted it.

Oh, the humiliation

You've seen me torture Baxter with Halloween costumes. You've seen the Santa hats, the bunny ears, the shamrock sunglasses. Really, it was inevitable...

Snuggie!

Lest you think I'm not an equal opportunity dog humiliator:
(I'm telling you, dogs have no appreciation for a photographer's need to get their subjects into good light.)

What a relief it will be to them to have their paws free to use the phone and the remote control.

Phoebe

Would you look at what I've gone and done now?

Meet Phoebe, the newest member of our family.

I know it's early...

I know it's early, but I'm doing a vendor fair next weekend to sell cards and prints and thought I needed some more holiday shots.

Sunset

Snapped just a few minutes ago from my front door. Straight out of camera except for sharpening for web.

Snow on leaf

From last week when we had that little bit of snow. Since then we've had beautiful weather in the 50s and 60s.

Snow cap

I woke up to even more s-word this morning.
What a difference a week(ish) makes. This photo that I posted last week was taken on Oct. 29.
This morning:

And so it begins

Woke up to a little of the S-word this morning.

Me as portrait photographer: Fail

I don't know how portrait photographers do it. The posing and technical stuff makes me sweaty and nervous. And then when my daughter and I are going through shots of her we have conversations like this:
Laney: I don't like that one.
Me: What don't you like about it?
Laney: I look like a potato.
Me: ???????????????????

Here's one from yesterday that she doesn't hate:

Oh em gee, another football photo of the boy

Cam isn't the quarterback--he was playing slotback and this was a rocket pass and....yeah, I don't know.

More Football

Another one of the boy because I'm up to my eyeballs with football photos getting a slideshow ready for Thursday.

Another season bites the dust

Cam had his last football of the season. I always feel a little sad when I watch the seniors, knowing it's the last football game most of them will play. Cam's a junior, so I'll probably be a mess this time next year.
