I told you I stink at people pictures

The other day I tried to snap a few quick shots at my DD's basketball game before I had to leave to pick up her brother. This is the best of the bunch. I just had to laugh when I saw how terribly they all came out. Seriously bad. Like a monkey took over my camera, except a monkey would do better. I think the biggest thing was not checking my ISO-it had been set at 200 and I forgot to up it. Anyway, DD is the blur on the right. She's my baby. But I actually love this next one of her. Not in a technical sense because I don't love any of my people photos in a technical way, but just because I love her.

Ugh, your second picture has the dreaded red x!
LOL about the monkey! Don't beat yourself up too much though, indoor sports are about as difficult as it gets. And if you don't have a fast lens, they are impossible to get. You just can't get enough light.
I struggled today in a gym, and I had a great lens with me. Sometimes, you just gotta go with it wasn't meant to be... :)

I literally did a google search on "dreaded red x photography" and I don't think you want to go to what came up first on a My Space page! I don't know what that means, but I actually like the 2nd photo. I think it has nice colors in the leaves and your daughter looks hesitant, but like she's doing this cause she loves you! First photo. . . well, can you adjust your shutter speed?

I love the colors in that second shot. Your daughter is so pretty and the colors are wonderful. I am pretty sure a monkey would have me beat inside a dark gym as well!

She really is so naturally pretty. I really love that second shot. I can never get a good action shot...seriously...maybe the monkey is with me too.

It takes a lot of practice for indoor action shots...don't beat yourself up over it!!! That second photo is wonderful.
