My try at the lunar eclipse

These are obviously from last night, not today.
I kind of liked the flare in this one and that I caught a couple of stars too:

I think eclipses are always fun to see, and this was my first time trying to shoot photos of one or of the moon at night at all. It was a fun learning experience, but I have to confess...I'm pretty "eh...whatever" about these.

To answer a couple of questions about yesterday's post, that is a tire track. I ran a crazy cool action on it. And the point and shoot camera I've only had a week, so I'm not sure yet whether I love it. So far so good, although I did lose a couple of photos transferring from my memory card to the computer. That could have just been the card, not the camera.

ooooh, that third one is super cool! (I like all of them, and I'm genuinely jealous of those of you who had nice weather and got to go out and try this!!) Very nice shots! :)

I feel so stupid for missing that darned eclipse, although the weather would probably have kept me indoors anyway. Nice shots.

These are great! I didn't get to see it so I'm enjoying the ones you all took. You caught some really nice detail on the moon.

These are great and you got such excellent detail! But now I'm thinking maybe what I caught on mine are stars. . . they're in the same position relative to the moon as yours, but space.com referred to Jupiter and Saturn. . . so now I'm confused :(

Becky you did a wonderful job with pictures of the eclipse. I did a horrible job, I won't even post my pitiful attempts.

I like the first one the best. Eclipses are hard to capture, especially when they are only partially eclipsed, the exposure is completely different for the eclipsed part as it is for the part not in shadow yet. Try it again next time, you'll do even better.

I love the movement on these! It makes it very "space age" The flare and movement made it feel eerie and fun!

TFS these!
