Mustaches

One of my favorite blogs is from our fellow POTD participant, Bobbi. Not only does she take beautiful photos, she's hilarious. The other day she had a great post about her husband's facial hair. You can see it here: Bobbi's blog by scrolling to her October 27 entry (check out her Trek or Treat post while you're at it--good stuff!) I had a great laugh checking out her DH's mustache. What's important to note, however, as we move on to this next photo is that Bobbi's husband's mustache was a JOKE.

I mentioned in yesterday's post that I'd been pawing around in my old photos. I came across this little gem from when DH and I were first dating. Me and future hubby, circa December 1987.
That mustache was no joke.
I could make fun of it, but get a load of my sweet red leggings with matching turtleneck. We're a match made in heaven.
This photo was taken very early in our relationship. I know this because we went home for Christmas break three weeks after we met and he shaved off the 'stache then and hasn't had one since.
What I find striking about it now is that we have a whole bunch of photos of us in our 20+year relationship where we have just these expressions on our faces: me grinning like a fool and him looking slightly annoyed.
Like I said, a match made in heaven.

I also got tagged by Celine yesterday. blog
Here’s the rules of the tag:
1. Get the book on your nightstand (or whatever book you are currently reading).
2. Open it to page 56 and find the 5th sentence.
3. Post the next couple of sentences on your blog, along with these instructions.
4. Do not go and find your favorite book, it has to be the one you are reading now!
5. Tag 5 other people to do the same.

"But the desire to stay in is very strong. This person wants to run a bath and then read in bed. In the bathtub this person pushes the bubbles around and listens to the sound of millions of them popping at once."

I kind of like this line from page 60 better: "It was wood-paneled and smelled like pee, as so many things do."

Now for the 5 people I'll tag (sorry if you've already been tagged): Amy M., Amy S., Angela, Sharon, and Margaret.

Love this photo....I think we should all post an old photo of ourselves. I am going to have to do some digging! I also must admit that I wore and had several outfits like the one you are wearing. Wish clothes were that comfy now!

LOVE that photo! I can tell we're from the same time, I wore those exact same outfits!!!

Guess what? You guessed where I was born and raised. I live in Tahoe now, but will be moving back home in six weeks! My girls aren't thrilled as Tahoe is home for them, but I am so excited to go back!

And thanks for 'tagging' me, I've been reading these on everyone's blogs and hoping someone would! I'm reading a good book for this and will do mine tomorrow. :)

Oh my gosh this is so funny! I love you lol. My husband's stache was eerily very close to this one, so glad they both shaved. Since they both have similar pictures maybe I should go find some red leggins/turtleneck and recreate your outfit, don't think it won't happen ;)

If I am ever in your area (you know for like a Star Trek convention-so sadly not joking) we will have to meet up!

What a wonderful, sweet photo! You two are so cute, and you both look like you're having the time of your lives! I somehow imagine that there's been a great deal of playfulness and humor in your lives together! I may have to dig out a not-particularly-old photo of my husband and his 'stache and write again the story about why he shaved it. . . . "It was wood-paneled and smelled like pee, as so many things do." Please, God, don't let this thought re0ccur to me all day today!!!! LOL!!!!
