Bird of the Day and sunflare

A scarlet tanager, another exciting sighting at my bird feeder. Exciting to me, anyway. I know not everyone is a bird dork like I am.
I'll tell you how much of a dork I really am. I have this book:
that plays bird songs. After the tanager flew away, I stepped outside and flipped to #111 in the book and played its song. And the bird came back! It flew high up in a tree and sang back at me! That made me happy. :-)

A couple of sun flare/sun spot photos since it's the POTD theme this week:

I am such a dork as well! I have that very same book. I haven't taken mine outside yet but have thought about that. I just sit in my easy chair and listen to familiar bird songs. No scarlet tanager here but I was very excited to have some orioles this year. They stayed a couple weeks and have now moved on, I think. My favorite visitors are the hummingbirds.

Happy bird watching!!!

What a neat book. Cool. My DH has called bob white quail in over our boat at the lake before.

Pretty bird. Love the red.
