My mom

Shh, don't tell her I posted it. I don't know why this would bother her because I think she looks great. Anyway, I just look at this photo and feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Not only is she a great mom, she is an amazing Nana. I never had a grandmother growing up, so I'm thrilled and thankful that my kids have such wonderful ones in their lives. She is my kids' biggest fan, and I love that they have that relationship. I'm also really thankful that I still have her in my life. Seven years ago she had a near-fatal heart attack and had emergency bypass surgery. I'm so proud of her that she quit smoking that day and hasn't had a cigarette since. She's a hiker, a rock climber, a winter camper, a snowshoer, a cross-country skier, a kayaker, a canoeist, a builder of her own home from the ground up, a voracious reader, a sharp wit, and a fellow nature lover. We also make a daunting team when we pair up for games because we think alike (and will gloat unbecomingly when we kick your butt). My mom rocks!

Okay, I'm going to answer your questions on here, hope you don't mind! My youngest dd and I are vegetarian, my oldest and my dh are meat-lovers to the core! In the rest of my family, one of my sisters and my cousin are also vegetarian. I'm a lacto-vegetarian which means I eat no meat at all, some dairy (yogurt & cheese), but no eggs. The reason I'm a vegetarian is simply a matter of likes/dislikes. Since I was introduced to meat, I couldn't stand the flavor/texture of it. It seriously has always made me feel ill to eat and my body has never been able to digest it well. The same holds true for my youngest dd. I did eat some meat here and there until I was about 16 or so, but then stopped completely because I couldn't stand it and I grew up on a small farm and couldn't bear the thought of eating my animal friends. So, I guess the animal rights comes in too, but not in a activist way. I believe everyone has a right to eat what they want, although I think it is mean to eat veal.

Let me know if you ever have a question about anything, I'm super-nosy myself, so fully understand that! LOL! In fact, a lot of times, my family will say after multiple questions, "Amy, if you're writing a book, leave that chapter out!"

Wow, Bec! Made your day? Made mine x's 1,000.
Awesome touch up. Too bad we can't do it for real without surgery.
Thank you for the tribute - feel the same way about you.
Love you lots,
