Purple wildflowers

I love wildflowers in meadows. I think this is a Canada thistle.
Canon 40D with 70-300mm lens at 300mm
ISO400 F5.6 SS1/1600

This is gorgeous... I love the pop of purple against the green, and the way the backlighting is making the "fringe" of the flowers glow!

Wow, Becky, I haven't had a chance to visit in a couple of days and you are really working that macro lens beautifully! Love how you caught the light on today's pic. The berries are terrific. (I tried the same shot with my 50mm, but failed.) And that groundhog is something! You actually made him look cute!
