Shutter Speed

I finally got a chance to photograph our local falls with my tripod on hand to practice shutter speed differences with water. When I got there, though, the waterfall was more like a trickle. This is zoomed in to 300mm on one small area. Oh, and I shot in RAW for the first time!

When my husband said, "Honey, come look at this," I got a bit suspicious (I know I can't be the only wife who feels that way when DH says that). I wasn't expecting anything quite so....large. He just had to show me, and I just had to take a photo of it, because we're 12.

Another Shaker building

Another building at Shaker Village. I faked the blue sky (the white building was getting lost in the dreary sky). How did I do?

Footballs

One of my favorite textures for baseballs, this time on footballs.
I was asked to share how I processed yesterday's barn photo. This is the photo with regular processing:
Then I added this texture to it. It's a freebie I got here called devil's parchment. Amy (mommytoeleven) shared the link on her POTD blog one day, and I love these textures. I used linear light mode at a pretty high opacity (around 70% I think), then erased over the building a bit. That's it--it was super simple.
For today's football shot I used this texture called harvest, which I got from the same place. I use this one a lot, especially on landscapes.
