A photo (or more) a day from me/from Maine. Because it's both. I took the photo, and I'm in Maine. Although sometimes I leave the state, so the photo might not be from Maine. But it's still from me.

Up up and away
More photos from the balloon festival. These were all taken with my 24-70mm lens. You get to be really close during the launches. So close that when the balloons are blowing up and on the ground, I can't get a whole one into my frame even at the widest angle. So close that when they're blowing them up, you might randomly have part of a balloon bop you on the head. It's awesome.
Blowing up:
Almost there:
It's upright:
It's airborne (and the crowd applauds):

I love that balloon and your captures of it!
Wow!! I can almost feel the hot air!! Gorgeous shots!
Oh, Becky, I just checked your last few days of photos, and OMG, OMG! The Balloon Crack Guy is over the top! I'm glad your dad is doing well. . . such a scare! I really love the coneflower photo the other day. It's absolutely gorgeous! I'm excited/freaked out by your balloon photos, partly because we're planning on a trip to Seattle in September, to meet with my son in the Navy who's coming back from Japan, and are going to wander around a little with him, take a balloon ride. The problem is that this is a dream of my husband; I hate heights. I don't like mountains (or even parking garages.) I like flat. Prairie flat. ND flat. Maybe the excitement of getting to photograph stuff will carry me through. . . .
Awesome! I can hear the heaters and the swoosh of the air rushing in. I LOVE LOVE that first shot! What a stunning POV.
So cool! I love all of the bright colors and the puffy clouds of the first two!
VERY cool! I keep meaning to get to a balloon festival they have about 40 miles south of here but I miss it every year.
Very cool. I love hot air ballons. I'd like to fly in one, one day. :)
Becky - awesome, fabulous, spectacular! What color and clarity! I like them all, with your different and interesting perspectives, but my favorite is #1 with its head-on, smack-o color! ML
