Kingsbrae Garden

A bunch of shots from Kingsbrae Garden in St. Andrews. Tomorrow I'll move on to day 2 of our vacation, Prince Edward Island.

My kids in a big chair:
A fushcia plant (I think.)
Dutch windmill that really works and feeds the two ponds in the garden:
A view of the sculpture garden:
They had a few animals there (like the alpacas from my previoius post):

Also in the sculpture garden. I couldn't find information online about what this is really called, but Chris and I call it "More Cowbell":

Faces

I saw some interesting faces last week.

This one was outside a shop in St. Andrews, NB:
And the rest of these were at Kingsbrae Garden:

Canadian Vacation Day 1

I thought I'd go back to day one of our vacation to Canada last week.

We crossed the border from Maine to Canada at Calais/St. Stephens, and our first stop was the Ganong Chocolate Museum in St. Stephens. The museum didn't interest me that much until I was told there was free chocolate as long as you were in there. Sold!
Then we headed down the road to St. Andrews, which is a really charming seaside town.
I liked this Celtic cross along the shore.

Also in St. Andrews was the Kingsbrae Garden that I mentioned in yesterday's post (where the alpacas live):
Gotta have a flower photo:

Alpacas

Is your mama a llama?
No, my mama is an alpaca.
I love that mop-top and the smile.
One of the stops we made in Canada was Kingsbrae Garden (http://www.kingsbraegarden.com/) in St. Andrews, NB, where we saw these sweet things.
This is not a very good photo, but I had to post it for the cuteness factor. This little guy got all frisky and was running and jumping. It reminded me of the scene in Rudolph during reindeer games when Rudolph shouts, "I'm cute! I'm cute! She thinks I'm cute!"

Sunset at Campobello

We went on vacation to Eastern Canada last week. We drove along the Fundy Coast, went to Prince Edward Island, and ended up on Campobello Island. Campobello was the family's favorite part of the trip, so I thought I'd start with a couple of photos of the sunset on our first evening there.

This one is from the cabin where we stayed. I didn't discover until after I'd made the reservation that my mom and stepdad had stayed at the same place a few years ago--in the very same cabin.

Seen on our way back to our cabin from dinner at one of the two restaurants on the island:

Pink Stuff

When I visited my favorite garden in July, this pink stuff was blooming all over the place.

I saw it in this shade of pink too.
