Zinnia bud

I've posted several photos of my pink zinnia plant, and I'm glad I shot photos when I did because the rain and wind knocked all the blooms off. I was hopeful when I spotted this bud, but so far I haven't had any new blooms. I like the layers of the bud (it reminds me of an artichoke) and the black tips.

Mini Roses

The worst-taken-care-of rose bush in America lives in front of my house, and despite its neglect, it blooms like crazy every year.

The rain is back.

Fireworks

What else for photo of the day today but fireworks shots from last night? I was so glad the rain stopped so we could see them. And today was absolutely beautiful--finally!
