What is it?

Please excuse the blurry photo, but this is my "what is it" photo for today. I can't identify this bird. Anyone know what kind it is?

Edited to add: I've got it after another trip through my Audobon book. I won't tell yet in case anyone wants to play.

    Becky--it looks like some kind of a finch possibly, or a female grosbeak of some variety. Love this shot. I can't have feeders because the deer and elk think they are for them...

    I so badly want to have photos like this. I love the birds!!! We don't have trees in our back yard so it's kinda hard to attract them. I wish I could help!

    I am BAD at identifying birds! I only know a male cardinal or a male blue jay, lol! Sad I know. :)

    I am like Jess: the bird has to have a bright color for me to know its type. Also, I don't know where you live...that might help. Is it a female junco? I do love the pic though! ML

    Ummmmm, a parakeet? A cockatiel? (See how bad I am at this? I might as well call it a kangaroo!) But SOMEDAY I might now, especially if I pay attention and learn from you!

    Like your DOF in that second shot...enough of the background to give reference, yet a good crisp focus on the focal ones.
